Adventure Rides

Cyclist pedaling through beaver pond

Come join us for a 25-35km ride off the beaten track.  Adventure Rides will take the path less traveled.  Expect a mixture of double track, old logging roads, minor bush trails, beaver ponds and other natural impediments.  This will be a casual, but challenging, group ride.  No rider will be left behind.

Mid-ride re-group south of Trout Lake

These rides are suitable for intermediate and advanced riders due to the distance (if you’re enthusiastic, you can do this!).  Rides will be approximately 3 hours.  Peter is riding, so smile pretty for the photo gallery that is sure to appear after the ride!

Duration: approx. 3 hours

Distance: 25-35 km

Bike Suggestions: Mountain bike or fat bike

Supplies: hydration and snacks

Equipment: lights are advisable later in the season

Frequency: 1/month, Monday nights

May 15, June 12, July 10, August 14, September 11, October 16

Heads up from friends at SFN

Repairs will be in progress starting today Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the Cold Water Creek bridge on the Red Pine System at Hiawatha Highlands. Please be aware that decking is being removed and passage across the creek is not recommended for your own safety and to prevent further bridge damage. Please watch out for volunteers and repair equipment when riding on the Red Pine trails. The plan is to have the bridge reopened on Sunday, November 13th.

Thank you on behalf of the Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club.
