Manitoulin Island Tour, July 19-20th

The Sault Cycling Club will be having a weekend tour on Manitoulin Island July 19 & 20, 2019.

How will you get there: Brad J. is able to take 4 riders and all their gear. The plan is to leave Friday July 19 after work and drive to the Island. The next day we will be on tour enjoying the scenery and food.  If you wish, we can come back on Saturday evening or Sunday morning; truth be told once you see the campsite – you may not want to leave.

The place where we will be staying is an experimental agricultural farm that is completely self-sufficient, and it’s located just outside Little Current; Justin the host often hosts cyclists who pass through. The route is ~110km long, but it can be easily adjusted depending on how we are feeling. Your Touring Director will keep an eye on weather leading up to the weekend.

Things you will need:

  • A bike
  • Food (I will bring a stove and cooler)
  • Rain gear
  • Panniers are not necessarily needed but could be useful
  • Sleep system (tent, sleeping pad and bag)

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. GPX and campsite location will be released shortly. Please let us know if you are interested in attending.

Cheers,

Brad
